We invite you to be part of transforming our culture and changing the campus by joining the SPO Formation Community!

Simply put, to take the students on our campuses deeper in the life of Christ, we must first go deeper ourselves.  This is the goal of the Formation Community, where we will focus on both mission and formation to set our campus ablaze and build a community that transforms us to be men and women who live a new way of life of holiness, character, and the fruits of the Holy Spirit.  We are going to unite with each other to do this as a community – which blesses us as we live in communion and is a greater force for mission.

Most importantly, the goal of the Formation Community is to build on the spark of faith that you have received at a retreat or Bible Study or in a youth group so that you graduate college with a firm foundation to live as a missionary disciple for the rest of your life. Together as the Formation Community, we will make the following commitments that complement one another to help realize this goal in our lives and this community.

Practical Commitments

 

What you give:

  • Commitment to daily personal prayer

  • Commitment to attending Formation content nights and prayer meetings

  • Commitment to making a priority to be faithful to meeting with your small group

  • Commitment to serve on mission (e.g. participation in campus outreach, leading or participating in a men’s or women’s group, leadership role in youth group, etc.)

  • There will be a require retreat fee. The fee is included in the Household fee for those living in Household.

What you Receive:

  • Support of a community of missionary disciples focused on growth in holiness and serving in mission (every day, all year long)

  • Powerful prayer meetings that include courses focused on practical wisdom on living as a Catholic in today’s culture (cadence varies by campus)

  • Personal transformation at the Formation and/Men’s and Women’s Retreats

  • Membership in a men’s/women’s small group led by SPO alumnus/a (2 per month)

  • Mentorship opportunity from an SPO alumnus/a (2-3 times per semester)
